Lee Nellis: A Journey in Architecture and Studio Founding in Dubai
Lee Nellis' journey was deeply influenced by the rich heritage of Scotland, with its unique blend of historical and contemporary buildings. Among the architects who inspired him was the renowned Charles Rennie Mackintosh—along with the dramatic Scottish landscape itself. The diverse terrain of the Highlands and their striking scenery left a lasting impression on his creative outlook.
At the age of 17, while visiting universities, Lee saw students model-making, sculpting, and bringing designs to life. It was a defining moment—his mind was blown, and he became set on exploring architecture.
From that point forward, the idea of craftsmanship became integral to his approach as an architect. He immersed himself in a rigorous seven-year architecture course at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, where he attained his Master’s degree. In 2009, Lee qualified as a chartered architect and became registered with both the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), marking his commitment to the highest standards of professional excellence. Lee continued his architectural practice in Glasgow and Australia, gaining valuable international experience.
