Solari sits on a private stretch of Palm Jumeirah, where the sea meets the villa in an uninterrupted line. The house itself becomes a private family's true centre of gravity, the place where their social life actually happens, not a stage for it. The brief was demanding in one sense, simple in another: six distinct social zones on a single floor, each with its own presence. None could be allowed to fracture the house into a sequence of disconnected showpieces. Our client wanted the ease of a private resort and the character of collectible design. Spaces with meaning. Somewhere you want to take your shoes off and stay.
The answer was found not in scale, but in material. A single continuous shell of cross cut travertine, warm and faintly porous, wraps the ground floor, inlaid throughout with bronze that turns stone into something closer to jewellery. Underfoot, in the entrance hall, a compass rose of marble and bronze is cut and set like marquetry. It is the first sign that this house was made, not manufactured. Above it, illuminated arcs float, drawing the eye forward through the enfilade toward the great room and its beach panorama.

Light, more than any single material, becomes the true architect of mood here. Cognac saddle leather drapes the great room in a soft, continuous line. Amber glass tubes ring the family lounge with a gentler glow. Alabaster discs hover above the family dining table, catching light rather than casting it. Each installation is bespoke. None are purchased ready-made.
Behind these gestures, backlit honey onyx and cast amber glass act as the home's inner hearths, warm sources around which daily life gathers. By night, the house glows entirely from within, without a single cold light source anywhere in its walls. This is the warmth you notice first: not temperature, but light.
Upstairs, the register softens further. A private family lounge at the top of the stair gallery holds the unhurried hours: film nights, books, and tea, that belong to the family alone. The principal suite closes the floor with its own loggia, set aside for the first coffee of the day.
Solari moves to its own rhythm, night after night. Aperitif at the bar. Dinner beside the glowing onyx wall. Digestif in the lounge by the sea. Each evening is distinct. The house itself stays unchanging beneath it. Solari is made to measure, a home built around how this family actually lives, not staged for how a house is expected to look. Made for life.
